Story
After having been apart from our mum for 2.5 years throughout the covid pandemic, we finally got the chance to reunite for Christmas 2021. A week before Christmas, on a normal Thursday evening, our mum had a stroke. Paralysed on her left side, slurring her speech, we immediately recognised the signs. By the time she was taken in the ambulance, she could barely pronounce her own name... Due to covid restrictions we were unable to be by her side in hospital. From that day onwards it changed her life and ours.
Having fully recovered her intellectual capacity and almost all of her physically condition, our mum still struggles with other symptoms everyday.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough.
We all have the power to make a difference in people's lives. Donate to better understand, treat, and overcome strokes.
