London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
I have decided to dedicate my upcoming marathon to my cousin, Molly Walsh Robertson, who passed away from meningitis. My cousin was a wonderful person who touched the lives of so many, and I want to carry her energy into this race and honor her memory in a meaningful way.
Running a marathon is a significant personal challenge and dedicating it to my cousin gives me the added motivation to push myself and see it through to the finish line. I also hope that by dedicating this marathon to my cousin, I can raise awareness about meningitis and the impact it can have on families and communities.
Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, which can lead to severe complications, including permanent neurological damage, hearing loss, and even death. Early detection and prompt treatment of meningitis is crucial to minimize the risk of such outcomes, and research is the key to achieving this.
Meningitis research is of utmost importance as it helps in understanding the causes, risk factors, and effective treatments for this potentially life-threatening disease. Research into meningitis is also important in the development of vaccines to prevent the spread of this disease. By supporting meningitis research, we can help to improve our understanding of this disease, reduce its impact on communities around the world, and save lives.
I would be honored if you could support me in my efforts to dedicate this marathon to my cousin's memory. Whether through financial support, encouragement, or simply by sharing. Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
