Dorset Walk 2020 · 10 July 2020
This walk is run by the Malcolm Whales Foundation, after the late Malcolm Whales who passed away to cancer. The charity donates its proceeds to helping find cancer cures, but also helping hospices create gardens and nicer facilities for people fighting cancer. The walk is 40 miles long and this year it is estimated around 400 people are going to be taking part!
Personally, I am walking because I know many people who have suffered with cancer and the alarming statistic of 1/3 of women and 1/2 of men being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime will mean I will most definitely know more. Raising money for a foundation , such as The Malcolm Whales Foundation , is therefore very important as cancer will most likely effect all of us, if it has not already. I would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor me in this walk because it would mean a great charity would benefit from our achievements.
This is my fourth time completing this walk- other the 3 days the incline and decline is the same as Kilimanjaro ( so quite the challenge). It is both emotionally and physically challenging, the flat fens don’t really prepare you for the Dorset hills. However it is so worth it, knowing that you have raised money for an amazing cause which supports people going through cancer.
