As many of you will know mum lost her battle with cancer following the discovery of a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in her frontal lobe. 

The average life expectancy for this diagnosis is 14 months, and has a devastating effect on the person.  It can affect a person's personality, mood and memory in the short term and then long term can lead to blindness, deafness and loss of mobility.  

GBM's are the leading causes of cancer related deaths in people under 40. Of all funding that is raised through charitable donations and government funding into developing cures for cancer, only 1% is allocated towards research of GBM's.
