Hello :)

My name’s Jaguar.

I’m running 156 miles to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

That’s because seven years ago, on 24 April 2012, my grandfather died of a heart attack.

I grew up without a father, so my grandad was the first father figure I had.

He loved me as much as he loved his own children.

When I got the news that he’d passed on, it felt as if a part of me left with him.

If we’d noticed the early signs of his heart disease, we could have saved him.

Because of that, I’m raising money for the British Heart Foundation, to help fund research into heart and circulatory disease, so that families don't have loved ones taken way early.

The Ultra Marathons:

My grandfather was always a hard worker, and he taught me to do the same.

In memory of him, I’m going to run TWO Ultra Marathons.

An Ultra Marathon is a run longer than a standard 26.2 mile marathon.

On 27 April 2019, I’ll be running the Butcombe Ultra.

It’s a hilly 56 mile totalling  8,202 feet in elevation, and I have to complete it within 16 hours.

Three weeks later, on 18 May 2019, I’ll be running the Westcountry Ultra 100.

This is a 100 mile run, even hillier than the first totalling 9,694 feet in elevation, and I have to complete it within 31 hours, with no sleep.

The T-Shirt:

I don't want this fundraiser to just be about me and my story.

I know there are other families who have lost a loved relative, so I wanted to find a way to allow them to be part of this.

Therefore, I’ve decided to have a t-shirt printed for the Westcountry Ultra run.

Whoever donates can choose to have the name of their loved one on the shirt that I will run in.

The making of the t-shirt and the expenses of the two races will come out of my own pocket.

To be clear, 100% of your donations will go to the BHF.

The British Heart Foundation:

Every day, 420 people in the UK die from cardiovascular disease.

More than 110 of those people will be younger than 75, and 12 babies are diagnosed with a heart defect every day.

25% of deaths in the UK are caused by heart and circulatory diseases.
