Story
I am taking part in 3,000 Push Ups in June for Teenage Cancer Trust. That's on average 100 push ups a day!
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words you have cancer. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. Teenage Cancer Trust are the only charity in the UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need so no young person faces cancer alone.
Every £25 donation provides an hour to talk. A Youth Support Coordinator provides the extra help young people need with things like studies, relationships and mental wellbeing throughout cancer treatment. £25 could pay for an hour of their time, helping them be there when they're needed most.
On the surface, it’s a physical goal- something to push myself, stay disciplined and step outside my comfort zone. However this challenge is about much more than fitness.
I’m doing this for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that means a lot to me. The support they provide to young people going through cancer, something no one should have to face, especially at such a young age. The reality of what these individuals go through day in and day out puts everything into perspective.
While I’ll be counting reps and dealing with sore muscles along with my already intense training routine, there are young people facing battles far tougher than anything I’ll experience in this challenge. This is my way of recognising that, reminding myself how small my own struggles can be and turning that realisation into something positive.
I want to push myself not just physically, but mentally to stay consistent, to keep going when it feels tough and to use that effort to support a cause that genuinely makes a difference.
Every bit of support will help Teenage Cancer Trust continue to provide vital care and support to those who need it most, helping them through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
If this challenge can raise awareness and contribute, even in a small way, then every press-up will be worth it.
Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page -would mean a lot.
Thank you 😀
