Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It's taken me 24 years to overcome my feelings of heartache to share my story:
In 1993 as a young couple me and my husband had found out that our unborn child showed signs of Potter's Syndrome. At this time doctors recommended terminating the pregnancy because there was a possibility our unborn child would not survive after birth. We decided to give her a chance and had almost made it to full term. On February 8th I went into labor at 7 months, the most painful contractions, with no sleep that night, nurses came in to tell me she would not survive birth, she indeed had Potter's Syndrome. The next morning with no nurse in the room me and my husband delivered our daughter Chelsea Jo into this world alone, held her before nurses would wisp her away. We were lucky to have nurses and doctors who understood the circumstances and made it so she was comfortable to were everyone had a chance meet her before we let her go. Making a decision at this age for both of us was hard, to see what we were doing was right and being a donor would save other lives. We didn't really have a clue how to handle what had just happened but looked to each other and our family for support. The time had come to let her go, by far the hardest feeling we have ever felt besides leaving without her. Our goal is to make sure pregnant women and their families get the support they need during these difficult times. We can't turn back time and get our daughter back but we can move forward and let her fly. Both me and my husband appreciate the help in our mission to help others and remembering the angel that touch our hearts for forever.
Love you always Chelsea Jo and will see you one day.
