Story
Dear Reader,
- Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK.
- 10,000 Men die from Prostate Cancer a year.
- There is around 40,000 new cases of Prostate Cancer a year.
These statistics are staggering, proving just how important our fight against Prostate Cancer needs to be.
Currently, 84% of men who are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer survive for up to 10 years which shows the excellent work charities such as Prostate Cancer UK are putting in. They need the funds to be able to do this and that's why we are here.
Jake and Mark want to help better that. We both believe that with your support and generosity behind us, coupled with our efforts for what will be a tough, strenuous and challenging task, we can make a difference.
Prostate Cancer is a charity close to our hearts. Jake has had an incredibly close family member diagnosed recently with the disease.
Jake and Mark are dedicated to want make a difference for the future preventing men from suffering unnecessarily, do something positive now and leave Prostate Cancer's dominance over Men into the past.
That's why we are planning on completing our personal '10K Challenge' as a testament to those 10,000 strong individuals who leave us each year.
We don't just want to complete one run for 10 Kilometers. We want to do five in a row. Four for the 40,000 new cases diagnosed each year and then a fifth run for the 10,000 who leave us each year.
50 Kilometers over the course of a week will be an endurance task for two 17 year-old's who are ambitious to help make a difference but with your support and guidance behind us, we believe anything is possible.
We are yet to confirm the dates completely as of yet but we believe that the Challenge will take place during early August. Every piece of news, our training and work to reach our target of £1000 will be regularly updated for you to know and find out what our plans are.
