Story
From July 10th onwards the four of us will be nipping across a portion of Africa, starting in Kenya, with the aim of reaching the southernmost land on the continent. This could lead us around 8000km (we don't really know) through the bush, jungle and up a few hills.
Stage 1 will be Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Malawi; we will then decide whether to head straight to Mozambique and finish up in South Africa, or head over to Zambia and Zimbabwe and then on to Mozambique.
We will be supporting Place2Be, a leading mental health charity who provide in-school support to children struggling with mental health issues. We've all been affected either through friends, family or personally in some way by these issues, and it goes without saying how important this cause is, so we are going to do our bit to raise awareness and hopefully some funding for Place2Be who do such an excellent job in supporting those in need.
We will be pedalling in memory of Felix Alexander, the younger brother of a good pal of ours, who took his own life aged 17 after struggling to come to terms with the bullying he suffered whilst at school, and the compounding affects that his experience had on him.
We will be covering all the costs of the trip, so all your donations will be going straight to Place2Be to help give more children the outlet and support they need. Anything you could spare to see four substandard cyclists suffer chronic ass pain, bouts of malaria and 3 months of Fairlie's horseplay, would be greatly appreciated.
