Update 9th September 2021:
Only 72 hours to go, a mix of nerves and excitement as we look ahead to Sunday. Unfortunately Tim has had to pull out due to injury, and two of the three of us left have felt the effect of marathon training but are aiming to be on the start line and hope the mix of adrenaline and energy gels, sees us through to the end.
Thanks to everybody that has donated so far, we are very happy with the amount that has been raised for this great charity.
Quite frankly, we can't wait for it all to be over!
Update: 15th August 2021:
With 4 weeks to go Sunday 12th September couldn’t be any closer!!! please DONATE to the cause and SHARE our just giving page! We hope to see you on the day!
Update: 11th Jan 2021:
A few weeks before Christmas, the race was again postponed until September 2021. We are hopeful that this will be the last postponement!
Update 1st April 2020:
Unfortunately 12 weeks into our 16 week training schedule we had come to the realisation that the marathon in April wasn’t going to go ahead. We looked at some alternates, which included running solo marathons, or running the rescheduled date in September, but these
ideas didn’t work for various reasons. As a result, we have decided to instead run in April 2021.
Personally speaking, there were plenty of highs and lows during the training, averaging around 30 miles a week and even winning a parkrun in Japan (it has to be said that the 57 strong line-up did seem to include many of the local bridge club!). However, I had a couple of injuries which had me very agitated wanting to get back out there, missing a couple of events as a result. Overall, I’ve learnt plenty around
training plans, dieting, and managing my body which I can put to good use next year.
We just wanted to thank everybody for their support and for those that have donated so far, our running total has hit an incredible £3,175.98. We will keep the page open, continuing to raise for CALM, but likely remind you all again in 2021.
Hope everybody is keeping safe and well, and being creative in their additional time at home.
Jake, on behalf of Jeff, Tim and Wayne.

Four of us will be running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 19th April 2020, raising money for our company's Charity of the Year partner, CALM, in the process.
A departmental rivalry for the ages with Ops & Facilities management represented:
It will be the first marathon for all of us, and we probably have all underestimated the size of the challenge.
We, and CALM, are all extremely grateful to anybody who sponsors us to run the 26.2 miles on the south coast.
Our company will kindly add up to £4,000 in matched funding if we meet our lofty targets so any donations will go even further.
We'll look to provide occasional updates on this page with how our training is going, which starts promptly on New Year's Day.
