Story
Hi Everyone
I have been fortunate enough to secure a late entry into the 2024 London Marathon through Diabetes UK.
As most will likely know in September 2022 I lost my dad to a long drawn out diabetes condition which had affected him since his late teens.
During the later years of his life he spent most of the time in a lot of pain and suffered a lot but before this he was probably the most hard working dedicated man I have ever come across!
We missed out on doing a lot of things with him because of his condition but I'm chuffed that ive been given the opportunity to take part in this event on behalf of him.
Just to make things a little more interesting ill also be running the Manchester marathon 7 days before hand, but i wont let this get in the way.
My dad would of said to me 'either get on with it, or give it up and stop moaning about it' and he would of used a much more fruitier vocabulary when saying it to me.
So its time to get on with it and hopefully any money raised can go towards preventing someone else's family member from having to go through a similar ordeal.
It will be an honour to raise money in memory of Kev and Diabetes UK and any donation no matter how big or small will be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
