Story
Those of you who know me would know that I'm terrible at sticking to things, especially if its to do with exercise. However, back in May I decided enough is enough and after 10 years out of the saddle I would set myself a goal to cycle from London to Brighton, 55 miles is easy right... not a chance. The first few weeks of training really did get me and yes my bum hurt.. a lot! As I write this I am now 6 weeks away from the big day and that's where you guys come in.
As I applied to take part in the ride, they offered me the chance to raise some cash for a charity of my choice and that's when it occured to me that I'm now not only doing this for my own goals but for a very good friend of mine. Conor is what friends and family call 'the miracle kid' purely because he was given a 2% chance of pulling through from a coma caused by a severe head injury. His journey of rehabilitation has definitely had its ups and downs but I am just thankful he is here to be honest. The charity I'm riding for, Headway have given support to him and his family when those downs got a little bit too much and we owe them a great debt in the amount of support that they have provided.
Any amount helps and I'll think of you all when I cross the line on Brighton! Thank you for reading/donating/showing your support, it means a lot.
Thanks
Jake
