PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

Although I was not nessercerily suicidal I feel it was a path that I may of come across. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide and believes that many young suicides are preventable. They operate HOPELINEUK, a confidential call, text, and email helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide, scared that they maybe at risk of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide. Every £5 raised can help pay for a potentially life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK from a young person wanting to stay safe from their thoughts.

But choosing to run such a distance is in aid of awareness. We will all know someone or several people who are suffering with mental health issues. Talk to each other, open up and don't be ashamed to admit sadness. We are all amazing individuals with extraordinary talents, but unless we maintain and look after our mental health, all this is lost.

Be there, listen, comfort and make each other believe.

 Thank you.
