Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
The coming months are set to be tough and COVID-19 will hit people affected by dementia the hardest. This also means that the ability to ramp up support for the people who need us is at risk.
Given the statistic that 850,000 people are currently living with dementia in the UK, the challenge is to walk a total of 850,000 steps within a three-month period. That works out at between 9,000 to 10,000 steps a day over three months.
I'm doing this in memory of my grandad, Terry Marshall, who passed away as a result of dementia in March 2014
