LEJOG - Self supported 31/05/21 · 31 May 2021

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Life is about making memories, unfortunately for some of us those lifelong memories may end up being taken away for reasons out of our control.

Alzheimer's is a degenerative disease, those impacted by it are forced to live with it as there is currently no cure. Covid-19 and the impact from isolation has had a disproportionate impact on those suffering with dementia. I will be putting my blood, sweat and tears into this journey for a cause which is close to my heart.

After postponing due to Covid as wild camping was not viable and also probably not legal, we will now cycle self supported from Lands' End to John O'Groats over 9 days starting on the 31/5/21 to challenge both the quality of our chamois and our friendships. The journey is ~1,600km (1,000 miles). There will be four participants taking part each raising money for the charities closest to us. Please donate generously!

Thank you!
