Since the first lesson in the Hammond YMCA park, The First Tee of Lake County has been changing lives one swing at a time. With the goal of helping children become good golfers and better people, From leadership opportunities to mentoring, college prep, healthy habits and life skills; The First Tee of Lake County does more than "teach golf". Children are transformed by their experiences with The First Tee. The wonderful game of golf has a way of challenging you. One student put it best when he exclaimed, "every time I do one thing right, I do something else wrong!" In that moment, our coaches helped him realize that he had the tools to succeed.
