Story
Seven weeks ago I decided to sign up a to cycle ride (sober I must add) in Gloucestershire. HOWEVER this all sounds very relaxing cycling round the Cotswolds until I realised how far I had to ride... 100Km; that’s’ 62 miles which is just shy of cycling from Swindon to Heathrow! Originally I signed up to this cycle ride because I thought it would be a ‘laugh’, but an unexpected turn of events turned my motivation on its head. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago my Aunty died of a heart attack. It was all very sudden and has been a bit of shock to everyone concerned, as a result I have decided to ride for The British Heart Foundation in her memory.
Going from a cycling novice to riding 100km has been a struggle with only seven weeks training; but through hard work and determination I have managed an 85km training ride. With a less than a week to go every pound I raise will give me the motivation over the last few hilly miles and surely its worth a pound just to see me hobbling around in agony next week??
Many thanks for your support.
