Story

Every night I hear the ambulances arriving at UCLH, across the road from my house. The sound of those sirens in the early hours really brings home the struggle faced by patients and staff.

Donations to medical research have dried up. That's a shame. We should be giving more to the science that's getting us out of this awful pandemic, and saving us from other diseases. We could be on the brink of an inflection point in public donations to medical research. I want to do my bit to get the ball rolling.

I've found a terrific research project. The team at UCLH are developing ways of capturing the day-to-day, hour,-by-hour symptoms of Parkinson's. My Father lived with Parkinson's for many years. As those living with PD know, these diaries are absolutely critical to the accurate treatment. Bringing the latest tech to this process could deliver a huge improvement.

That's why I am doing 10x 10km runs, to raise awareness of medical research giving. To remember my Father, who I miss every day. And to give a little to the medical research charity at my local hospital.
