Story
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu,
This year I'm so excited to announce I'm taking part in an annual hike up Scarfell Pike in support of the charities Rafah International and New Beginnings. Money donated will go towards supporting both charities and the amazing work they do.
Rafah International is currently bringing in aid and support for orphans in the Yemen, an area recently devastated by conflict. Starvation is rife in the country with millions suffering. With each donation you will be providing the Orphan's with: essential foodstuffs for their family, an annual medical examination for the orphan and any other medical expenses, clothing, a school bag with stationary, school fees and school transport fees, prizes for academic success, a yearly outing with other orphans and their families, and weekly pocket money.
New Beginnings is a charity set up in order to aid the journey of those who have recently converted to Islam as well as those who have already done so. They have done so many good things for me in the short term I've known about them. As a revert myself, they have given me a safe space and place to explore my religion.
Ultimately both charities are linked to causes that as Muslims we should be trying to support and aid in as much as possible. No amount is too small to give.
Jazakallah khairun for the kindness you will bestow.
James Burns.
