TEAM BULLHEART

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
TEAM BULLHEART will ride on. Lands End - John O'Groats 31st of august -14th of sept 2019. 1200 off-road miles by 1 man on his mountain bike.
So why am I writing this? Its in the hope to get your attention so that you can either help me raise some money for a more than worthy cause. Or if its not for you then donate to another charity close to you. One way or another its a good thing to do.
The charity: I'll be doing this challenge for Sarcoma UK which is an organisation that helped my good friend Mark Fradgely through his fight with cancer.
The story: You may or may not know that I lost a close friend earlier this year. This was not only my loss...his family and friends lost one of the strongest characters out there. He battled Sarcoma cancer for 10 years and never gave up. Mark Fradgley (google his name & you will find out about him & his incredible journey, strength, courage & supportive family) or simply ask me and I will tell you first hand what a true legend he was. I was lucky enough to ride the length of the country with Mark & his sister Laura 10 years ago, not long after Marks initial diagnosis. We did this on road bikes and managed to raise some serious money. Mark since went on to help me and others raise money for a hospice that cared for my Grandad. He put his troubles to the side to help me in tough times.
Mark Im doing this for you brother. Your love for bikes and mountain biking has led me to this challenge to raise money & awareness for Sarcoma UK.
LE-JOG 2019 off-road: Thats right I'm hitting the trails. Im hoping to set off from Lands End and ride my mountain bike off-road to John O'Groats. This route will take on brides ways, cycle paths, disused railway lines, back roads & gravel tracks. 1220 miles in total. I'll be doing this as Mark deemed of bike packing and got me interested in it. So I feel its the perfect thing to do to say thank you and ride on in the name of Team Bullheart.
The details: I'll be carrying all of my own kit - food, water, clothes, bivy tent, cooking equipment, you get the idea. The bike will be fully loaded & HEAVY! Im aiming for 100 miles a day and will be camping out most nights to save costs and just to get back to basics. I will book the odd hostel/camp site as ill need at least a shower every few days! Im aiming to complete it in 12 days but have allowed 15 incase of weather, mechanicals and me getting completely lost which is more than likely to happen at least once a day!
The team: There will be a support vehicle in the background kindly driven by my parents who will never be more than a day away. This is incase of emergencies, break downs or god forbid any incidents or crashes. (SAFETY FIRST). I hope to meet up with them every few days to get fresh food and water and just for some moral support.
If any of you have lost or know someone battling cancer you will understand what this means to me and so many others. Please follow progress on instagram chevalier_jay or on facebook jay chevalie, Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this & for your sponsorship.
