My cousin Rhian Griffiths passed away at just 25 years of age after a long battle against Cervical Cancer in 2012 and Velindre Cancer Centre provided fantastic support for her and her family during this time.

Rhian’s charity fund set up in her memory at Velindre (The Rhian Griffiths Forget Me Not Fund) has since raised over £500,000 to benefit the patients  and aid the amazingly dedicated work of all the medical staff and volunteers at Velindre Cancer Centre.

Due to Covid-19, organised events are nearly all but cancelled, so I will be running a half marathon distance around St Omer (France) to raise money to support the vital work of Velindre in memory of Rhian.

I’ll be running simultaneously with (but distanced very far from) my friend Rich, who will be running his own half marathon in New Zealand. Hopefully he won’t beat me by far despite the time difference!
