Story
I've set up this Just Giving page to raise money for the small but extraordinary Flourish House in Glasgow, in memory of my dear departed school playground buddy, David Dalrymple, who has passed away suddenly. David's funeral is on Monday 25 May 2020, and of course because of the pandemic very few people will be able to attend in person. For the few who can attend, and for the many who can't, donating to Flourish House is a great way to express your love for David and his bereaved family. It's an 'investment' in people with mental health challenges, giving them a structure and support to live fulfilling independent lives and to build good prospects.
For 20 years, Flourish House offered David that structure, and it also supported his loving family really effectively. David, with his warmth, kind nature and big heart, would have been thrilled to know that a way was found for his family and friends to give something back, in thanks for all that it had done for him.
At Albert Secondary School in the mid to late 1960s, autism was not understood, and it wasn't until much later in life that David was diagnosed with this condition.
Please help us reach the initial target of £1500 to help Flourish House. In these extraordinary times, all charities are experiencing a slump in donations and financial support. In David's name, we can link arms, share the love, and help this incredible charity to survive and continue to support people with mental health challenges.
