Us 4 lads from Wakefield decided to run the half marathon last Christmas, one to try and get some timber off and two for a bit of a laugh. Since the horrendous war that has started on Ukraine us collectively have decided to do the Leeds Half Marathon for those unfortunate Children having to free their homes in the Ukraine, all proceedings will go to these children and families.

About the charity:

The war in Ukraine is forcing families to flee from cities under fire. Over 3 million people have arrived in neighbouring countries, including 75,000 unaccompanied and separated children. Children are witnessing the horrors of war. Their childhood is under attack and they will bear the invisible wounds of conflict, even after the fighting has stopped.I am fundraising to help ensure the protection of children fleeing and provide urgent psychological support for families.- £30 could help provide immediate relief to children and their families - £50 could help provide psychological support to children who have witnessed the horrors of war - £75 could help provide children with safe spaces to play and learnThank you so much for your support.

About us:

James Gledhill - those of you that know James, he’s not the most agile of people. Weighing in at around 100kg on a good day. At Christmas he was weighing in at around 120kg so he’s been trying his best to train rather than eating the fridge on a daily basis. 

Matty Clayton - those of you that no Matty might refer him to ironing board arse or woody out of toy story. He’s been know to steal cookies from the cookie jar in his younger days, but due to the years of been called fat he weighs in at around 80kg these days. He’s also known as a white Mo-Farrar. 

Ash O’loughlin - those of you that know BIG ASH, proof is in the name. He’s big. Like James and Matty he used to be a big of a tugger. But not anymore, with his tall statue and his Adonis arms. He runs like he’s carrying carpets. 

Christian Kane - ‘Kaney’ as most of people know him by is nothing like the 3 little pigs above. He’s always been a athlete, fit and he’s that boy who turns up to school with a banana in his lunch box. Saying this he’s had two operations on his feet, so for him to complete this run is proving challenging for him. But he will do it.
