Story

Thank you for supporting Millie's fundraising. Millie never got to meet her Grandma who died of cancer 22 years ago.  When she heard about all the difficulties people are facing getting cancer treatment at the moment in the pandemic, Millie wanted to set herself the big challenge of completing the 'Welsh 3000s' to help.

The Welsh 3000s challenge is to climb 15 mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within 24 hours. The length of the climb is over 26 miles long which is more that 104,000 steps!  Plus she will have to climb 4,177 meters which is more than half of Mount Everest!

The youngest girl to complete this challenge was Lola House 2 years ago when she was 10 years old.  So Millie is hoping to become the youngest girl to ever complete this challenge.  She will have sleep overnight at the top of Mount Snowdon in a plastic bag to start the challenge and will be spending the next 6 months building up her fitness and strength. She hopes to complete the challenge in June to make sure she gets as much sunlight as possible and doesn't have to spend too much time walking in the dark.

Millie chose to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support because they are there to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. So whatever cancer throws their way, they are right right there with them.
