Story

Update (17.5.22)

On 13th May we said goodbye to Dad and I am going to miss him more than I can put into words.

He has left me with amazing memories and a collection of the closest family friends to help keep them alive. Thank you, Dad, for everything you gave for me after mum died, and always.

Whilst I had hoped more than anything he would be there to see me cross the finish line I know he will be watching me, with Mum and Grandpa, the whole way round. I'll try to keep the swearing under my breath to a minimum.

We are very grateful for any donations in his memory to help fight bowel cancer.

(22.3.22)

Hi everyone,

As many of you know, my Dad currently has bowel cancer. What fewer of you will know is that my Grandpa also died of bowel cancer a few years ago. So when I was looking for a charity to support in running this year's London Marathon there was a fairly obvious choice.

I'm really grateful for all your donations and know they'll help lots of families like ours - through research, support and information - in the future.

Lots of love

James

P.S. Read on if you could be persuaded to play a little game - (potentially) at my expense!

How to make fundraising for charity even better? Throw in some gambling!

Having just completed my first half marathon of the training (1h46m35s) I'm offering any of my family & friends the chance to play a little game of double so I don't quits. Here's how to play:

  1. Make a donation - please and thank you
  2. Estimate a time in the comments section of your donation
  3. Wait for race day
  4. If I finish slower than your time, and remember you can pick anything, then I will personally match your donation. If, however, I finish quicker than your estimated time, you have to double your donation by donating the same amount again after the race.

Thank you again! I'll use these little bets as motivation for training over the coming months and either way Bowel Cancer UK get double the money!
