London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
Earlier this year, I experienced a serious knee injury that led me to undergo surgery. Throughout my recovery journey I gained a deep appreciation for the support and care I received during those challenging times. This experience inspired me to give back and help others facing similar hardships. By participating in the London Marathon 2024, I aim to raise funds for the Matt Hampson Foundation who provide assistance and resources to individuals battling injures and medical conditions sustained through sport. Your generous donations will make a significant impact, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you for coming along for the ride and please give generously where you can!
This year the Foundation has SEVEN incredible people taking on the world-famous 26.2 mile course, starting in Greenwich and finishing on The Mall to raise valuable funds for our beneficiaries. The centres doors were opened in 2018 and is the brainchild of founder and former England and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson, who himself experienced a life-changing injury in 2005 leaving him paralysed from the neck down, aged just 20.By becoming part of the community that Matt has created, beneficiaries of the Foundation are able to draw on the experience and knowledge of people who have been on the same journey. They develop the tools and skills they need to move on as they start to rebuild their lives.
