The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Story

On October 7th, I will be running the Royal Parks half marathon in London in memory of my brother Alex, who passed away from Primary Bone Cancer in February of last year, just 5 days after his 22nd Birthday, and his marriage to his lovely wife Ali.

Alex wanted us all to continue to do as much as possible after his death, to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, who fund research and attempt to improve outcomes for people with primary bone cancer.

Around 450 people are diagnosed with bone cancer each year in the UK and Republic of Ireland, mainly affecting children and young people between the ages of 10 and 24. As bone cancer is relatively rare, research into primary bone cancer currently gets very little funding from other sources, and devastatingly, there has been no real improvement in survival rates for over 20 years, so funding and a heightened awareness of the potential symptoms of primary bone cancer is badly needed.

So please donate what you are able, and wish me luck, as I don't think I've run more than a mile in about 10 years!
