Salters' Institute Centenary London to Brighton · 24 June 2018

The Salters’ Institute, founded in 1918, is one of the country’s leaders in the field of chemistry education. It aims to promote the appreciation of chemistry and related sciences among the young, and to encourage careers in the teaching of chemistry and in the UK chemical and allied industries.

Story

I hope you will be able to sponsor my ride to support the Salters' Institute Centenary Appeal. I will be joining a group of fellow Salters and friends to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause. The Salters' Institute (https:/www.saltersinstitute.co.uk) does great work to promote science appreciation and education in schools and universities. 2018 is the centenary of it's founding, and to mark this the Institute is aiming to expand it's activities. These include funding more chemistry festivals for 11-13 year olds, which are held on university campuses and will help to inspire our scientists of the future. Also the Appeal will fund the development of more on-line resources for teachers to use, and extend support networks for school science technicians.
