Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Seth, since I was very young I knew I was a bit different to others, I struggled at school and needed help just to try and keep up, I was eventually diagnosed with autism when I was 16. Unfortunately I really found school tough, both academically and socially, I guess I was an easy target for people to pick on and make fun of, which is often the case for people with learning disabilities of some sort. I tried though, but the education system isn't really designed for people like me who see things differently, but I got through it. I didn't do well in my exams, except English which I enjoyed the most.
Whilst at college, I'm studying animal care, my dad heard of Noah's place so took me to visit, I liked it there. I started going one day a week, I help them with all sorts of jobs, I look after the Guinea Pigs, help put up fencing, feed the pigs, whatever needs doing. It's a safe place to be, I'm not judged and I'm valued by the staff there. I also have to travel there and back which is helping with my independence.
On Saturday I am going to do a sponsored walk from Bideford to Barnstaple with staff and other people that go to Noah's Place. It would be great to be able to give something back to them so they can do more for people like me. If you can give anything it would be great, in exchange I will walk, in the outdoors, in the sun, which for anyone that knows me is a feat in itself!!
Thank you very much.
Seth
