Bupa Great South Run 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

On 25th October 2009, I will be "attempting" the Great South Run 2009 in order to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. I lost both of my grandmothers to Pancreatic Cancer and am keen to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help fund information, support, awareness and research.

Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival of any cancer: 1 year - 13%; 5 year - 3%. With 7000 deaths a year in the UK, it is the 5th most common cause of cancer death in Europe and the US. Pancreatic Cancer UK is working for improvements by providing support and information to those affected by the disease as well as raising awareness and funds for research and by sponsoring me you will be really helping them out.

So please do help me out and donate whatever you can. Anything you can offer will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

James
