Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm walking St Cuthbert's Way, a 100km long distance path from Melrose in the Scottish Borders to Holy Island off the Northumberland coast to raise money in support of chorister bursaries at Durham Cathedral, the shrine and burial place of St Cuthbert. I was lucky enough to be a chorister from 2009-12 (deputy head chorister 2011-12) and my sister is currently a chorister as well. We were fortunate that our parents were able to afford for us to have such a fabulous opportunity. However, there are many children who would benefit from the chorister life who cannot take up their place due to the cost. My time as a chorister has given me access to so many people, experiences and opportunities, and will continue to do so. My wish is that all children who could benefit from the same opportunity are able to do so, regardless of their financial means. The choral tradition in English cathedrals is hugely important to so many people on so many levels. Let's help to keep it alive and well!
