Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to take part in the Paris Marathon in April 2022, and I must admit having never run over 5k this is quite a daunting task!

Back in 2019 I cycled with a group of friends from London to Paris over a period of 3 days for the mental health charity Mind. Having struggled with my own mental health around two to three years ago I wanted to change what I was doing for the better, and I believe physical health is a great contributor towards a healthier mind. This was my starting point on my journey of trying to get healthier and make my life more enjoyable.

So, after the past two years of this terrible pandemic I believe that everyone has struggled with their mental health during this period; to a lesser or greater extent. I know I have myself. I decided to give myself something to focus on.

A couple of my friends (Sam and Nathan) are keen runners and said they were looking at signing up to the Paris Marathon in 2022, so as a last minute (and quite brash decision) I decided I would follow suit and take the dive into attempting my first marathon!

So please donate to my page, as I would like to achieve my donation goal of £3,925.00.

The reason this number has been selected is that in 2020 a total of 3,925 men took their own life. I believe men do not talk about their mental health enough, in doing this I am hoping it will raise awareness amongst my friends and colleagues, and hopefully everyone will start talking to each other about mental health.
