James' 500 miles for GRiT

500 miles in one year · 7 July 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. GRiT is a charity that helps teenagers suffering with their mental health and aims to give them the tools to both survive and thrive.
It’s a charity that has a strong personal connection with me - my sister, Dr Louise Randall, helped found it. As a family we all struggled with Louise’s mental health issues as a teenager.
My aim was originally to run 500 miles in official events from 20 October 2019 - the Ultra Tour of Edinburgh - to 18 October 2020, also the Ultra Tour of Edinburgh (35 miles). In between I’ll be doing the Ultra Tour of Arran (60 miles over two days), The Wall (70 miles), Man vs Coast (24 miles), the Canterbury Trails (67 miles over two days), and many more marathons and half marathons.
Obviously, Covid-19 then came along so I'll now complete whenever I can but the rule remains quite simple - no medal, no miles.
I will fund everything myself - all transport, equipment, accommodation etc - but in the interests of transparency GRiT have paid half of my Rat Race season ticket worth £199.50. That has been paid, so all of your donations will go directly to GRiT.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
