Story

I am cycling from Basingstoke to Cologne to raise money and
awareness for the Ark Centre in Basingstoke.

This centre is a really important project not just for Basingstoke and North Hampshire but the surrounding cancer units that currently treat people from North Hampshire.   I believe that once the centre is built and established it will have a knock on effect because the other centres like Southampton and Guildford will have more availability for their region.

Your donations will have a ripple effect that will spread much further than just Basingstoke.

Cancer patients often have to travel long distances to be
seen and receive treatment such as chemotherapy.  As you probably know that is a treatment which takes a lot out of you and knocks you for six. The Ark Centre will make that journey a little easier by being on our
doorstep.

Why have I chosen to support this project?

As is well documented nearly all of us will have been
touched by cancer, either as sufferers or having relatives or friends stricken by this disease.

In my case both my father and more recently my brother were taken
from us by cancer.  My dad suffered with cancer to the kidneys and my brother bowel cancer.

This is very hard to put in to words the pain this disease causes
to those who suffer with it and those around and it is essential that all concerned get the best treatment and support through difficult times.  The Ark centre aims to deliver that.

Its not all doom and gloom either because great strides are being made trying to beat and or treat cancer and we must not give up that fight.  Let’s get the centre built and hope the Ark centre can lead that battle from the front.

As many of you know I am not a cyclist and I think I proved
that when I cycled to Paris, but this looks a lot more challenging.  It will hurt, but that is nothing compared to the journey cancer suffers make each hour of each day while they battle cancer.

So, if you can support me and make a donation, I would be so grateful, it would help me up those long and demanding hills.

Remember £1 will have that ripple effect., think of what a
fiver could do!

Thank you.
