Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This September, I am hoping to climb Kilimanjaro in aid of Meningitis research foundation. This charity strives for a world free from meningitis and septiaemia and invests heavily in groundbreaking scientific research. The money raised will support this and hopefully make a meaningful difference.
This charities work is vitally important, but as Meningitis gets such little media attention, many people don't know of the dangers. Students like myself are at as much risk as anyone, unless they donate as that has an immunizing effect (may not be entirely true).
The Kilimanjaro climb in question takes place over 6 days, with an epic 16hr solid summit treck on the 4/5th day. For an idea of whats going to be involved you can watch the comic relief Kilimanjaro climb, which takes the same route as we will. Alternatively you can trying walking up a lot of hills while trying not to breathe much.
Anyway all support will be much appreciated, and if you have any ideas for activities I should do in order to raise money, please contact me at js917@cam.ac.uk.
Thanks again
