Many thanks for the gifts we've already received and for your wonderful messages of support!   On Monday, May 31st, at around 3.30 pm, we walked down a lane and by the JCB training centre and finished walking the Limestone Way.  Having begun on the challenging Pennine route from Castleton we'd finished strolling through the gentle hills of South Staffordshire.  Lyn, Julie,  Geoff, Helen and I had walked 49 miles with Mike Haynes and friends from Matlock to celebrate Christian Aid's 75 years of working amongst the world's poorest.   

As the organiser of Tansley's Christian Aid, with members of our village's Anglican and Methodist Churches, we are raising money to support the work of Christian Aid.  We would be thrilled if you would join us in our fund-raising!

Christian Aid works alongside people of all religious faiths and none and helps people bring about the change they want to see in their own lives and in the life of their communities.  It also gives practical aid to those affected by war and natural disaster.  Increasingly the challenges people face are those resulting from climate.  

The climate crisis is leaving people hungry, homeless and heartbroken. People like Rose struggle to survive without a reliable source of water. From drought to flooding, climate chaos robs people of control over their lives. 

Rose says, "I often feel hungry.  Because of climate change, I worry a lot about food. I pray to God that the rainfall will become normal like it used to be. In recent years, the drought has been so bad its caused a hunger crisis. Crops wither and die. Rivers run dry. We struggle to survive." 

The coronavirus pandemic has only made this lack of water more critical for Rose. Without water for handwashing, it is a struggle to stay safe from the virus. Please support our fundraising and help to provide reliable water source, for people like Rose.
