For the past 6 months I've been giving up my Saturday evenings to volunteer at Shelter from the Storm. We cook meals for the 40+ guests, clean & tidy and generally give any help we can to support these people.
We have guests who are fleeing torture, forced marriage, honour crime, trafficking for work or sex and plenty who have just fallen through the cracks of our society.
This place does so much good and I hope you can help to contribute to the hard work carried out by the staff and volunteers. 

Shelter from the Storm is London's only free homeless shelter. Located in north London, they operate seven days a week, 52 weeks a year and don’t get a penny from the government. Find out more at http://www.sfts.org.uk.

I'd never run further than 5 miles before this year so 13.1 is going to be a real challenge. I've been training ever since I entered, but am still yet to make the full distance. If anyone is around on Sunday 8th May please come along to cheer us on. Or join us at the pub for some much needed drinks afterwards!
