Hendrix's Wallace and Gromit's Grand appeal page

Wallace and Gromit's Grand appeal · 20 September 2020
I am doing a skydive to raise money for The grand appeal charity at Bristol children's hospital. Many of our family and friends will be very aware of our son Hendrix's condition. For those who don't I have written below our story.
In September 2019 at our 20 week scan we received news that no parent should hear. The scan showed abnormalities of the heart and upon further testing we received the diagnosis of Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) a rare heart condition that means the left ventricle doesn't develop properly.
HLHS is treated with 3 major open heart surgerys (Norwood, Glenn and Fontan procedures) without these operations Hendrix cannot survive. Although managed by medication and surgery Hendrix's condition cannot be cured and all his care is palliative.
During what has been and continues to be a very stressful time for us and our family Bristol children's hospital and their charity The grand appeal have made our lives whilst in hospital so much more manageable. They have provided everything from toys and books for Hendrix whilst in hospital to accomodation for us whilst in Bristol. The grand appeal also provided us with family days out to different attractions to get away from the stress of the hospital and financial/emotional support whilst we had time off work to be with Hendrix.
The grand appeal continue to work hard to help others in need whilst they are in hospital and we as a family would like to say a big thank you for everything they have and continue to do for us.
All money raised will go towards the intensive care department and the cardiac ward aswell as the accommodation for families.
