Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I started running again at this start of this Lockdown and decided that I’ll be leaving this one better than I started it.
Therefore, I’d like to try and make what difference I can, so I’ll be running 5K every day until it ends, with the aim of raising money for Mind, the Mental Health Charity.
We all have our struggles, and though I’m fortunate enough to have never battled too hard with my own mental health, sadly there are those that do.
Throughout this period and more than likely as a result of it, there are going to be those who are going to be far worse off, if not already; so I’m hoping that this might go some way to help those who will benefit most from it.
I’ll be continuing to run, regardless of whether that be until February 15th, May 15th or even beyond.
(I hope it’s not beyond).
Those of you who are close to me will know that running is a constant battle of peaks and troughs; as although I’ve still got a good engine from swimming, and some days I’m running like Forrest, others I’m wandering round like the Pirate from Family Guy, because my knees just won’t function.
Irrespective, Mind is the Charity that won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect, and, to all intent and purpose, neither will I through LD3.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding; and If you’d like to make a donation, I’ll leave the link in my bio...
PS: I’m not one for bombarding social media with posts, so I’ll be posting a recap of the runs each Sunday to stay accountable...
PPS: I don’t like bothering people for ££‘s either, so this is the first and last time I’ll ask for any donations, but I'm aiming for £250
PPPS: The first 7 were completed this week and if anyone wants to do any of the runs with me, just slide into the DM’s, cos Boris say’s that’s okay...
