James Wilson is raising money for Child of Hope
Story
I'm running the Berlin Marathon on September 27th, and raising money for Child of Hope, a children's charity based in Mbale in Eastern Uganda. The charity provides free education, healthcare, food, welfare and clothing to children living in slums who would otherwise have very little support.
The charity is run by very friendly, hardworking and dedicated people, and they would be extremely grateful for any donation, no matter how small. For example, providing medicine and general healthcare costs just 70p per month per child, so even the smallest donations make an impact.
As a slightly different example of the work the charity does, two years ago when I did the Chicago marathon, the money raised contributed to the building of a playground (http://www.childofhopeuganda.org/latest-news/our-new-playground-being-built/), the only dedicated place for children to go play in the area.The last time I did a marathon the last few miles were as much fun as a few rounds with Mike Tyson. However after convincing myself it was a rewarding experience (it's not), I decided I'd try to run a marathon in under 3 hours. Besides, arranging a charity bout with Iron Mike would have been a logistical nightmare. After a few weeks of training I began to appreciate how hard this would be, and was soon calling Don King to see if he could pull any strings. Anyway no luck and here we are, I'm hoping your support can push me that little bit further on the day.

I am visiting Mbale in November and am very excited to see the work that the charity has done. Child of Hope is a fantastic organisation that makes a real difference to vulnerable children's lives, and any donation you could make would be hugely appreciated.
