My Jog in July Fundraiser for Pieta House Suicide and Self Harm Services

Jog on in July · 15 May 2024 to 14 August 2024 ·
I’m running 120km (4km+ every day) this July in aid of @pieta.house suicide and self harm services. I’m doing this in memory of our dear friend Paul Curran.
Losing Paul to suicide was and remains to be the single most agonising thing I’ve ever had to face. It sprung a tsunami of grief, immeasurable pain and an unshakeable confusion for all of us, and more than anyone, for Paul’s family.
Though years have passed, I still think of him every day, still see his effect on my writing. Without Paul, our band is not what it is today. Such was the power of his character. A truly singular friend and artist.
For those who don’t know, The Murder Capital was given its name 4 days after Paul passed. I felt as though Paul’s life could’ve been saved, had he been given more options and ways to get help for his mental health by the state, had he been given the chance.
I never want this to happen to another friend, or to any of you, directly or indirectly.
If any one of you need me I’m here for ye. To the best of my ability, I really am here.
Same goes for any of us I’m sure. Just reach out.
If you can’t talk to a friend or family member, contact @pieta.house, they’re here to help you.
All the lost possibilities of Paul’s life continue through all of us and the art we make, in the spirit of his memory, in the spirit of his vitality.
