James' Marathon story so far:
In 2019, James completed his first London Marathon in 4 hours and 36 minutes, having started the experience as a novice runner with a "couch to 5km".
Thanks to the support of friends, family, residents and colleagues, the MP for Rochford and Southend East managed to raise £3,407.07 for local charity Havens Hospices.
Since then, he has continued to clock up the miles with regular parkruns, a half Marathon and even a 30-mile trail run.
On 26th April 2020, James will once again take on the world-famous London Marathon while raising raising funds for Southend's homeless charity, HARP.
HARP, Southend's homeless charity, helps local people overcome homeless for good. We provide access to accommodation, support and educational, confidence boosting activities to give local homeless people the best chance of leaving the streets behind.
On average, we assist over 1,000 people every year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We rely on the fantastic support of the public to carry on with our work.
Thank you for supporting HARP and helping us to change lives.
