Story
6 years ago I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, I had a large part of ascending Colon removed in May 2019, after 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy i came out the other side. Last year after 5 years of screening I was given the all clear.
This year I will be taking part in this years Anglesey & Gwynedd Relay For Life as part of ‘Team Chemocare’ as a cancer survivor. This is a 24 hour relay walk we will be embarking on raising much needed money for cancer research which has hit my family and this is our way of giving back. So if you’re able to support us in reaching our fundraising target.
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.
How does the money you raise power progress?
- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.
- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
