I like a challenge and this is my 4th, and final one of the year!  After Ride London in May (100 mile closed roads), the South Downs Way in June (100 miles off road) and the Etape du Tour in July (Stage 14 of the Tour De France) I decided to enter the Great North Run and help raise some much needed funds for the Red Cross.  The start line is only 351 miles from home which adds to the adventure.

The Red Cross is a charity that I support each month so it made sense to choose them as my charity partner for these events.  After seeing the impact of the tragic earthquake in Turkey and Syria earlier in the year I wanted to help and raising much needed funds can provide humanitarian aid and save lives.
