Bournemouth Marathon Festival Half Marathon 2018 · 7 October 2018 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am the eldest Grandson of Carol Randall. She is an amazing woman and a great mother to her two sons David and Steven (My Dad and Uncle respectively) . Unfortunately roughly 10 years ago she suffered a stroke which developed into Alzheimers. Ten years down the line she is living in a care home and needs to be fed her meals by carers. My Grandad, her husband Brian has done a tremendous job of looking after her throughout this period, from the early stages right the way through to two years ago when he could no longer cope and had her put into a home.

The aim of my Half Marathon is to raise awareness of the disease and the affects it can have on families, whilst being able to help fund the research of Alzheimers and hopefully help doctors and nurses gain a better understanding of how to intercept the disease before it fully affects its victims.

If you would like to donate to me that would be very much appreciated, whether its 50p or £50 I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks,

James
