Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. On 8th July, I am raising money for Cancer Research through taking on the challenge of walking 100km/62.4miles non-stop in 24h.
As some of you know, my niece Olivia was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2021, she was just 13 at the time. Ewing Sarcoma a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer that occurs in teenagers. Following diagnosis, Olivia spent around 12 months living in a combination of Southampton, Frimley and UCLH Hospitals, undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and proton beam therapy (when her body was deteriorating too much to continue with radiotherapy). Ewing Sarcoma is not curable, and this treatment was supposed to give her an extra 3 – 10 years. Unfortunately, within 6 months of leaving hospital, she was told it had not only returned, but it had spread. Told she can count her remaining time in months, Olivia decided to decline further treatment and continues to battle day to day.
Although unsuccessful, the treatments, technology, and advances around preventing cancer are astounding. Cancer Research funds pioneering work into how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer has benefitted millions of lives. I hope that by raising money for Cancer Research they can continue their work and help improve the lives of millions more.

In challenging times I understand that not everyone will be able to contribute to this cause, I appreciate all the support I am given.
Thank you!
