The Bobath Centre is world-renowned for the life-long support of people of all ages with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions. Our highly trained team of therapists have a focused and deep understanding of cerebral palsy and we offer a tailored therapy program to each person we see.

Story

As you can see from the picture on the left I successfully managed to summit mount Kilimanjaro on Thursday October 23rd, 2008 @ 07:58 local time (05:58 BST).

This was the hardest thing I've ever done, in particular the 30 hours or so that began at 0600 hrs Wednesday 22nd where we climbed the Barranco Wall to find that at the top it was a descent into another valley and then up again and then finally down and up again to the Barafu Camp - purched on a ridge at 4,600mtrs and blowing a gale @ 17:30pm. By 7pm we had been fed and watered and sent to our tents for 4 hours rest! Dragged out at 11pm to be ready for a midnight push for the summit - reached about 8 hours laters all to get 5 minutes at the top for a quick photo in temperatures well below zero!

By late afternoon we we back down to the last camp where there was a welcome beer waiting for us!

Would I do it again? Still thinking about this question!

I'd like to thank all those who have sponsored me and supported me through this challenge - together we have raised a tremendous amount of money for the Bobath Centre.

If you haven;t yet donated, perhaps waiting to see how I got on, this website will remain open for a short period of time - thank you.
