Team Police is going to win!! Meet the players from Team Police and the Team Police mascots!

Story

Fern wanted to be a Battle of the Badges mascot as she has been a patient at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital for many years.  Fern was first admitted to RACH when she had a strange skin condition at the age of 11 months.  After visiting the dermatology department, Fern's family received the awful news that their daughter had a potentially life threatening condition called Langerhans Cell Hystosis (LCH).  Fern's LCH was contained to her skin and steroid cream was used to help keep it at bay.  Through all the different tests, it was discovered that Fern also had hip displaysia so she required an operation to sort it.  She had extensive surgery which resulted in both her legs being in plaster from top to bottom for 6 weeks!  After the 6 weeks she had another operation to break her fema to lengthen the leg which was then plated and pinned for another 12 weeks.  After 6 months she had the pins, wires and plates removed. At the age of 7 it was discovered that her good leg wasn't straight so she had another operation to break and straighten it.  Fern ended up in the high dependency unit for a few days.   Thankfully Fern is now fine and running around like a little girl should with her legs the correct length and straight!  Fern and her parents have been amazing fundraisers for The ARCHIE Foundation and have to date raised close to (if not over) £20,000!!

Fern has been matched with Jamie Clow who is a Police Constable based at Cults Police Station.  Jamie loves football and is looking forward to playing for Team Police with Fern cheering him on and walking him onto the pitch on match day.
