Action Challenge Chiltern Challenge 2019 · 27 July 2019 to 28 July 2019 ·
We are walking 100k (64 miles) for the charity Bloodwise. Last year we took on 50k together so why not up the stakes and do 100k around the Chiltern and here is the reason why:
my stepson was diagnosed with non Hodgkin's lymphoma when he was just turning 17, this was a life shattering experience for him, his family and his friends, We wasn't sure if he was ever going to come out of hospital again, at 17 you should be starting to experience life and living it to the full, Kieran however was experiencing pain and near death, but he got through is thanks to the wonderful care and advanced medicine treatments which charities like Bloodwise research.
Kieran is now 25 and over 7 years in remission and living a healthy full active life and there is not a day goes by where we don't thank the treatment he received, part of this walk is to say thank you for what we benefited and received but also to help other individuals and families get the same treatment and of course hopefully one day make blood cancers and all cancers a thing of the past.
Thank you for reading Jamie's story.
