On the 29th of April, myself (Jamie), Innes Christison and Euan Paul will all be running the Brighton Marathon in support of the MS Society.

MS Society is a charity close to my heart as Multiple Sclerosis has been in my family for as long as I can remember and has affected my mother, my late aunt and just recently, my sister.

For those of you that don't know, Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune condition in which the body's immune system begins to attack the fatty insulating sheaths that surround the nerves, preventing them from effectively conducting electrical signals.

This damage causes an extensive array of symtoms including fatigue, double vision, difficulty or innability to walk, pain, spasms and impairment in mental functions.

Unfortunately little is known about the causes of MS and as of yet there is no cure, however all the time more and more is learnt about the disease and how best to live with it.

MS Society provides a community in which sufferers of the disease and their loved ones can share their experiences so that nobody needs to feel as though they are struggling alone.

It aslo provides vital funding to research into slowing the disease, reducing symtoms and finding a cure. The research done so far has led to the creation of drugs and treatments that mean those diagnosed today can live with far fewer symptoms than people (like my mother) who were diagnosed 20 years ago.

The very kind and beautiful boys, Innes and Euan are running the marathon with me, so we're all training together and raising funds together.
